I have a vibration noise when turning at slow speeds. Seems to be coming from driveshaft/hub area so I'm thinking worn splines on shaft/ hub since I just replaced the u-joints, gimble bearing and checked alignment. If I continue to use the boat will it damage anything that doesn't already need to be replaced? Any input is appreciated.

Here's the whole story. 1966 V164 original 1a ez shift outdrive. I had the u joints done by my boat guy. Replaced the gimble bearing and used an alignment tool. The tool slid right in with a finger or two. The noise was still present even at idle. I slowly adjusted the motor mount up and checked for noise. It seemed to dissipate as the engine was raised. I turned the nut up two full rotations and could no longer hear the noise when turning at idle. Took it for a ride and found there is no noise turning left but it sounds even worse turning right. Please give me some input.

Remove the drive and correct the engine alignment first, then recheck all your work
