I have a 1985 Sunbird with a 4.3L engine.

At idle speed and rev. up at idle no vibration.

With motor engaged I have a vibration that seems to be worst when turning.

Could it be the prop? How would I know if the prop needs to be replaced?

Any other ideas on what might be causeing the vibration?

Thanks
Greg

Re: Vibrations

Is it a mercruiser? If the vibration is worse during turning, it probably is the u-joints.

Re: Vibrations

An un-balanced prop will also cause vibrations...hows yours look? Any chips/dents? You can bring it to a prop repair shop and they can usually fix/balance it for less than a new one.
