I was going to post a photo of a collection of spoons, that were hand me downs over the years. Several are stamped Mooselook Wobbler, and a few others look familiar, but there are some odd ones. Some of the Daredevil looking ones, are stamped Made in USA, but I don't see a logo or indicator of who made them. A couple look like mother of pearl, and the larger copper colored spoon, who knows, if I had to guess, from sometime in the 40s or earlier. I'm 53, and these came out of my Dad's spoon box, and he didn't troll or fish spoons I ever saw. Some of them may be newer, one had a hologram on it, possible I bought some of these 25 years ago, and the stuff got mixed up, but most of that is old. I put this stuff aside, just a sample. I have some knock off wobblers in gold that caught Salmon and Lake Trout last week, and I'm glad I put this stuff aside in a probably don't want to lose Jar. I think some of those are more Jigging spoons than trolling, but I've never done that, but it is on the list.

Thoughts on this stuff, fish it or archive it. I'm thinking archive, and I'll put a note it the box for whomever opens it some day ... lol

oh, is there a recommended service to post a pic to, and then you just link the pic here, no?

It is hard to identify on the description ... hopefully the photo issue will be cleared up soon. I really want to see those older spoons... I am not a collector, just think older lures are cool!

A pike on 4 # test. Is a long tug of war.
:LOL:Yeah , once I figured out what your on about :ROFLMAO: I once spent over an hour attached to a huge salmon where there should not have been any salmon , lost it in the end , just couldnt make any headway against the current ( lower Waiau river near Monowai village ). My friend was on the bank downstream adjacent to the fish hollerin and gestulating wildly as to the size and what he was going to do to me if I dropped it .

I have decent luck with some newer wobblers I got about 25 years ago. The gold one, like the pic, but dimpled. Not sure if they are OEM, Mooselook, but they certainly look just about the same, but the metal seems cheaper and the hooks rusted out and I had to swap them, but - that same gold 4" wobbler, caught me a 5lb bass some 20+ years ago, never caught much more on it than that. Recently started fishing again, and it kind of bugged me I never caught a Landlocked Salmon or a Lake Trout, and Sunapee is not that far from here. That same gold spoon caught both. I feel like I should get some new ones, and retire that one. It got bent and seemed to not swim correctly after a few fish.

I dunno if it some sort of illness but I keep all my old lures ....well except the ones that are MIA:D
I still have the first lure I ever bought. A South Bend Bass-Orena in Perch finish. Cost me $1.10 back then (circa 1952), a little over 13 bucks in today's money. I can still go in the room I keep sporting goods and remember when I bought most of the stuff and think of the good times I had back then. Can't say as much about pictures stored in a box somewhere of ex-wives and girlfriends.

I am about 33 years your senior and recognize many of those designs. The one I don't see is the Johnson Silver Spoon that everybody would fish with the pork rind attached. I often think about some day fishing with some of them, If they were effective then are they still effective today. I think the fish haven't changed as much as we have in what will catch fish.
