First time poster here. I have been reading some posts for about the last week, seems to be some pretty good information passed back and forth.

Ok now for my question.
We have a 1995 Larson runabout that we purchased new in the summer of 1996 (left over model). Is there anything that I can do short of replacement of the vinyl to freshen it up a bit? The sun is really taking it's toll on the boat.

I don't know if it is available in the U.S. but there is a vinyl paint in aerosol form. Puts a coating ouer the old vinyl to make it look like new. Don't know how well it would do with your sun though, we don't get that much over here but it is good in rain.

Vinyl spray paint……Works great, and will even fill some small cracks. Try your local auto store, or a wallmart. It should not be hard to find. Good luck!!! ;)

I have a 1992 Bryant that needed some vinyl updating also. (My Winter project.) I have started with the sundeck and bench seat bottom and back. I am doing the removal and installation myself and had a local apolstery shop make the vinyl skins for the three pieces out of marine grade vinyl (3 colors). They did an excellent job and charged $313 for the new skins. Now I just have to put them back on. I tried all the quick fixes and none worked. I would price local apolstery replacement.

I used the vynel paint on my boat(72-18' starcraft) last summer and even with hard sole shoes it has held up well over the summer and so far this winter. Just be sure to let it dry for a couple days before using the material, ie, seats floor -what ever. I got the paint at an auto store.

Hey Fixit did you say you sprayed the vinyl paint on seats? I have a vinyl bass fold down seat that is cream white and I want to make it green. Do you think that the vinyl paint will work in this application. I was hoping to find something that would actually dye the vinyl, but if the paint works let me know and I will go for it.
Thanks
jimpittman

I used vinyl paint to change the color of interior in a car I used to own. It was a light blue and I changed it to black. Did the seats, dash, headliner, heck I did it all with vinyl pain, even the carpet and it held up great. I had to touch the seats up only a couple of times and I drove the car daily.
