Is there a difference in vinyls? Take a look at prices-if I buy regular upholstery vinyl at a fabric store, it is about 1/4 the price of " marine" vinyl" Is there a difference?

Re: vinyl

Well i know the naugahyde is waterproof and mold resistant etc. The Marine fabrics also usually have a high UV resistance. I guess it really depends if your using it in the cabin or out in the open.
Garys upholstery seems to have alot of choices you may want to look there.
Hope this helps

Yes, if you really want to know or its waterproof take a little wather or spit on it. Than spread it out with your fingers when the wather dissapears it's junk when it stays its good material. For good vinyl you pay 3double or more...

Ow, forgot to mention that when you use cheap vinyl and than with wather like in your boat it cracks very fast. This is my method: use cheap vinyl to recover something without foam so it cant move or bend so it cant crack also. For seats and cushons use waterproof vinyl
