Volvo 275 Gimbal Clearance

Not sure whether I should put this here or not... Mods move if necessary.

Last weekend I got my shiny (and dry) new transom installed. I'm running a AQ131-D with the 275 leg.

When I popped the gimbal off pre-transom fix, I had a width of 2" from inside of the transom to outside of the gelcoat. Now that I've got a bit stronger transom, my thickness is about 2 1/4". Will that be a problem when I reinstall the gimbal? Anyone know the Volvo install tolerances?

Here's the transom template. Covers all your questions, even the ones you were about to ask.

PS, there is no such thing as a "Gimbal" you also don't have a gimbal bearing nor a gimbal housing.
