volvo 275 tilt issue

Boat&motor- 1986 21' bayliner capri-aq225e #cu56837...275 outdrive....
my tilt switch is not on the throttle and and only has a lite that is on until the drive is all the way down it did not have a gauge.....I installed all new (7) gauges when I rebulit the dash and the new set has a trim/tilt gauge...... I was just wondering if it is possible to connect this gauge to the tilt? if so does anyone know how?????? I did try to hook it to the lite but if the light is on the gauge reads down but the drive is up and when the drive goes all the way down the light goes off and the gauge reads up.......

Nope, to trim sender setup on the 275 outdrive. Mostly because it doesn't have trim, just tilt up or down.
