New to you boat or it was running fine then started this?

have you taken the carb apart and gone thru it? most likely your idle circuit is plugged with crud

Morning. Looks i fit in this question too.
Boat is wellcraft 19ft 3.0 penta with 3.0 GM engine in. Was running fine till my starter died right before i put him in water, replace starter now engine will start and run if i hold key, as soon the key is release engine die.
We check all wiring around starter and all looks ok, my friend is suggesting its something with carb since it will not close when cold, and will stay open when hot. Any clue what could be. New sparks new oil ,filters Was running fine on 4th july all day and now nothing. Thanks D
