My 2005 Regal 1800 was sitting in storage for 3 years. I took it out and had the carb rebuilt as well as removing water from the old gas. It ran great until I put some fresh gas in the tank. Now it still starts fine and idles OK but when I try to accelerate to plane the engine sputters and then stalls. I have to wait a few minutee and fight to start it again . I can then proceed at idle speed only. Could the fresh gas have something to do with this. Thanks for your help

Went through this with mine this afternoon, sort of. Do you have the external, inline, water separating canister type fuel filter? If so, check that filter. May still have water in that filter. Mine did exactly like that when we first launched. I carried an extra filter just to be safe, and even though I had pumped out *most* of the bad gas/water mix, I still had some in the canister. To avoid water, be sure to use ethanol free gas. Corn liquor ain't no good after it sits up over the winter.

Also may want to check your idle mixture adjustment screws. My issue was a little bit of filter and a little bit of adjusting and it purred. But of course, you haven't told us what model engine you have, so help will only go as far as general ideas without that info.

It is a Volvo Penta 3.0GL 135HP(2005). I don't have a water /gas separator currently installed. I also suspect there is still some water in the gas. When I use the muffs or have it in the water dockside she runs fine. Its only when I attempt to throttle up that she stalls.

You should install one. Would bet you have plugged up fuel filters in the fuel pump and the carb.
