Two weeks ago driving the boat (30' sig 300), after a 2 hours drive the boat lost power and then i decided to slow down and realize my bilge pump was evacuating water continuously. So i put the engine in neutral and lift the engine compartiment to get a good shower of hot water. The hose was split about 1.5" long just before the T-stat housing. So i drive to the closest marina and start looking for a hose to replace it. Obviously no volvo dealer close by. So i take a picture of the hose and send it by email to the closest auto part and a hour later they delivered something that should do the job. My hose had the T for the water heater, So i simply replaced the upper section and hit the river again, all was ok.

2 hours later, same thing, this time it is open 2" long just at the outlet of the water pump...luckily i simply shorten the old upper hose and with some oil was able to get it installed and continu my tripp.

Boat is a 2000 and when i bought it last fall it only had 200 hours. Could a old hose simply burse like this? or i should be worried water flow is being reduce by blockage, maybe in the riser?

Temperature of that engine always as been around 150 deg F and on long runs could slowly rise to just under 160 deg F, but never go over 160.

Also, with the loss of power the engine temperature steadly got lower. I beleive the temperature sensor is just at the water inlet in the t-stat housing, why would temperature suddently drop like this? water still was flowing, probably not enough flow but still going in the housing.
