volvo 5.0 gxi

i replaced the batteries on my 5.0 gxi started up and it ran ok.next morning turned over ok but would not start.checked there was fuel and a spark.Nothing almost as if a switch was off,i have rechecked for this!
can anyone throw any light on this please.
