Hi all, I’ve been following these forums a long time, but first time posting. I had the engine out of my ‘01 powerquest last fall for some fiberglass repair. When I got the boat back I noticed that there was a loose hose laying in the bottom of the bilge that I didn’t remember seeing before. I followed it back and took a picture of where it attaches to the engine(see below). I’ve been looking at the engine for hours and I can’t for the life of me figure out where this hose is supposed to attach to. Can anyone with knowledge of the Volvo 7.4 point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

you might be right on that lukbak572 it does come from the bell housing area, it’s really hard to get at it on the PQ and the picture I have isn’t the best. I just didn’t remember seeing the hose laying on floor of the bilge before, but maybe it was clipped to the bottom side of oil pan originally. I couldn’t find any reference to this in the workshop manual or any of the exploded diagrams online.

There is a drain hose on mine, I didn't see it until I removed motors. It is in case the bottom of bellhousing fills with water to drain evidently. It was just laying in bilge.
