Volvo AQ125A Leak

I just replaced my impeller on my AQ125A. It overheated so I check the impeller and its seated with the key. While doing some reading on "air leaks", I got the idea to put water down the strainer. After doing that water started to drip from behind the water pump. I was wondering if there is a seal or something behind the water pump that I could have damaged or moved something when pulling the old impeller out. This was my first attempt at changing the impeller in this boat.

Your sure it wasn't leaking before? Here is a parts breakdown of your raw water pump.

There is a sealing ring that could be replaced. I don't think those are too hard to work on.

Have you checked the intake fitting on the outdrive right below the ujoint bellows. Pull the hose of and inspect for corrosion.

I pulled the pump and checked the rear seal #12 on the breakdown. Its very stiff and worn. I pulled the shaft and assembled the pump together with shaft on bench. I filled the pump with water and its leaking from that rear seal. I will call the boat shop and order a new seal this week.

Ok I know this was a while back but got it fixed. It was the seal on the back of the pump. I pulled it out and it just crumbled. The spring inside the seal was even rusted and falling apart. I rebuilt the pump and its running water like I'v never seen before. I wonder howlong its been sucking air.
