Looking for some help/advice on my first post to this forum
Motor is a Volvo AQ131a

While boating today I noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment and then the motor stopped suddenly. I quickly determined it was coolant, and it had saturated the entire engine pretty good. I got her home and immediately noticed the drive belt (not timing belt) had broken. I did look to see if a hose had blown or other signs of a leak in the cooling system and didn't find anything. I did try spinning all the pulleys by hand and they all spun freely except for the large one on the bottom of the motor was not turning at all. My question is could the belt breaking cause coolant to blow everywhere and cause any other damage to the motor?

Without the belt, the water pump doesn't turn. Without the water pump turning, the motor overheated.

You may have lost the head gasket and warped the head due to the overheat. Time to do a pressure test and determine the extent of your damage

There is a temperature gauge or light on the boat for a reason.

The big pulley on the bottom is your crank.
