Volvo DP-SM gimbal pivot pin thread size

Hi all!

Does anybody know what the thread for a Volvo Penta DP-SM (I think it's the same transom as the one for some SX models) pivot pin is? I stripped the threads and would like to insert a helicoil but need the thread size. I know Mercruiser uses 5/8 X 18 UNF, but I can't find any information about Volvo Penta (i think the thread is UNC, not UNF)?

I'd be unable to give an exact thread size but if needed the Volvo OEM part number is 3852316

Thank you for the response... I do have the part number but lack the technical specs... I would like to get the repair material / tools before i lift the boat. So no one had any issues with stripping the threads out of the gimbal?

It must have had some load!! I believe that the Pivot housing threads are already helicoiled from new.

According to the parts list, i think no helicoil is used from the factory in this thread... additionally, i think it would be extremely hard to damage a helicoiled thread
