Just picked up a boat with a 5.7GI-C engine that was installed in 2003 and a duo prop outdrive that is original to the boat (1993) the tag on the upper drive is too corroded to read. Just want to figure out what duo prop outdrive a will fit my application.

DP-A or later based on the pic and the shift cover. could be a DP-B. period correct for 1993

The only thing newer would be if you switched to the joint venture drives which you wouldn't want to do since you have a good drive already.

There is just quite a bit of corrosion externally. It is is salvagble. Anyone know where to find a decent transom mount and bare case I could swap internals into?

That is a DP-C drive..... Not a DP-A,,,, Not a DP-B..

Check the Anodes.... Default was zincs and thus if going to fresh water was an issue....

From the pics... does not look too bad

Looking at the VP chart that drive is a DP-A to DP-B1 looks to me.
The DP-C looks totally different at the front

Hope this is right??
............. Bill Lawrance (BillBayliner) in post #6 gets it right.
Scott in post #3 and Pat in post #7 are a bit confused.

Although a bit early (1993) ...... the OP's drive is a "C" drive, noted by the suspension fork cylinder attachment point. (cylinders make a direct connection to the fork)
The A and B drives use the earlier suspension fork "anchorage bracket" ..... similar to the 290.

Many people are not up to speed on the "C" series running up through 1996 (gasoline engines) along side of the SX/DP-S gimbal suspension drives.
In other words..... the AQ series was still available during the introduction of the Gimbal Suspension drives in 1994.

I have found that the DP-C's were painted charcoal and the DP-B's were painted light grey

The DP-H was still behind diesels just a few years ago. The Aquamatic drive is pretty bullet proof

However the tag on the gearbox above the bellows will give you the series, outdrive part number and ratio.
