Volvo Duoprop - Front Prop Nut-stripped and stuck

Hello All,
Was finishing the last step of winterizing and got in a hurry and I think I put the forward prop nut on backwards (the plastic on the front instead of the back). I got it about 3/4 of the way on before I realized it felt odd. I tried taking it off and I cannot get it to move. There are some fine metal shavings around the shaft and it is definitely stripped. Any suggestions on getting the thing off and not damaging the prop shaft?

2005 VP DPS-M (I think). Can provide exact if needed.

I don't think you will hurt the shaft. It's hardened stainless and the nut should be brass. It is like a NYLOC nut.
They make nut splitters if you can get it in. take a chisel and split it

Heat it up and the nylon bit will soften, you should be able to get it off then.

Not sure I'm comfy putting heat on it. Aren't there seals on the 2 shafts that could get damaged? I don't think there is room for a nut splitter as I was looking at what that tool looks like-the forward prop is on and the nut is inside the prop hub enough. Thoughts?

Dremel it, Make a slot till you are almost to the threads, and another on opposite side. Split it carefully and remove the remains.

its solid brass nut. use a dremel like grub mentioned on both sides of the nut. do not cut thru to the threads, just about .050" shy. then use a chissel in the direction of removal and whack it, splitting it.

there are a bunch of seals right there for the aft prop shaft, I would not use heat.
