Volvo Penta 2.3L

Hey fellow boaters!....Great Site!..........

I have a 1986 Bayliner 2150 with a volvo 2.3l engine with a 270 outdrive. Its never been rebuilt, It starts and runs. Just had it in the water over the forth. It just seems like its getting week. I have a 15 x 19p prop on it and with 4 adults and 3 kids in the boat it would take forever to get up on plane. This is a different prop the old one was a 15 x 17p that i hit a rock with in Lake Erie (middle sister island). My question is, Is my motor getting week and wont spin a 19 pitch prop???? My second question is does anyone know what other motors will fit in place of the 2.3 with just a direct motor swap (3.0l) maybe????? Thanks in advance Jeff

You are probably over propped with the 19, get a 17 like you had before and it will feel normal again.

No, a 3.0L will not even come close to fitting.

Thanks Don for the quick reply! Thats what i figured on the prop. The only reason I put the 19p on there was because it was free Cant beat free! Thanks Again Jeff
