Hi, can someone help me please? I have a Volvo Penta 2004 4.3 GXI 225 HP. I am trying to remove the outdrive, but it is very difficult, it is not detaching. I already removed the 6 nuts, aswell as the shift control cable. However, the outdrive is not coming off. Is there anything else I have to disconnect before,to remove the outdrive? I feel like it is very stuck together and will not come off.

Trim Rams ? Sometimes the outdrive get stuck if they have not been removed in a while. A little persuasion is sometimes needed.

Lay a small block of wood in the dip between the outdrive and the pivot housing and gently use the rams to push it away. Go slow.

The block of wood trick should work with the exception of the most stubborn outdrive. Do you see any white powder around the 6 studs? Freshwater or saltwater? Is it sliding out or any outwards movement at all? If the drive is not frozen on the mounting studs the drive shaft coupler might be stuck
