I have a 1984 Bayliner with a Volvo Penta 270 AQ125 and I need a new prop. I am not sure of the HP. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I use the boat for skiing and tubing so I am quessing a lower pitch. Not sure about long or short hub or the diameter.

Thanks again.

I have the same boat and it had a 14 x 19. I think that would be a good place to start for you. My boat jumps up to plain in no time. If you go to {http://www.marineengine.com/discus/messages/12487/12487.shtml} you can find out just about anything you want to know about your boat.

What model is your hull? I have that exact same engine/drive combination on my 1984 Capri Cuddy, 19ft. I am currently under-propped for the cruising I do, and I want to say I have a 17 pitch on it? I've been searching for a new prop, but they're hard to come by for this older drive, and it's hard to choose one without testing it!

I have an 85 Capri Cuddy 18.5 it had a 14/19 that was slipping real bad. It kept getting slower @ the same rpm, so I found a 16/19 on Ebay. I thought it would be to big. I think it is going to be OK, got good rpms and gets on plain just fine.
