Im wanting to remove the tilt mechanism completely from the transom, ive removed all bolts in order to do so but it wont budge, any ideas on how to get it out? Perhaps try to work it upwards by tapping the round flat section on the outside that disengages the arm?

Although Im worried about damaging something im under the impression once all bolts are out it should just lift off so it must be stuck?

With the tilt not working and in this predicament I decided to strip the top section of the mechanism down to expose the worm gear, ive inspected everything, the gear and bearings are all fine and it was absolutely packed out with grease!

I know my motor works but theres no movement from the worm gear, when stripped down like this should I then be able to move the worm gear by hand? It wont move at all and im now wondering if my problem is the lower section has seized in the transom? (the section that leads from the inside to the outside)

Really would like to get this cleaned up, reassembled then tested so I have a working tilt! :grumpy:

Thanks in advance

Thanks Dennis, not meaning to start 2 threads the same but my question here is more about how to remove the tilt unit rather than the original tilt problems I was having.

Just hoping the more direct the separate my questions are the more help and advise ill get!
