Volvo Penta 3.0 (1999) cuts out at 2000 rpm

Volvo Penta 3.0 (1999) looses power at 2000 rpm under load. It will rev higher in neutral. Water and oil temp are ok on gauges. Not sure if there is an ECM safety mode on this model?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... Probably oughta start with checkin' the fuel filters for water, 'n crud,.....

Then put new ones in, 'n check the fuel itself, the sniff test will tell ya how bad the gas is,...

How old is yer fuel,..??
