Volvo penta 3.0 , bandaid?

Recently purchased a seaswirl 195 with a volvo penta 3.0 Curious what this is, it is a bolt that is about 4 inches long or so that sticks out of the engine near valve cover and oposite side of the exhaust Just worried that it may be a bandaid, is this normal?

I checked my 2002 Volvo Penta 3.0 and I do not have a that bolt. Maybe it is used as a lifting point on the engine. I have a lifting eye forwards the front of my engine.
