Hi Can someone please advise me if he Holley 2bbl CFM 500 will replace the demon 2bbl (no other information on the demon)? From the pictures I've seen they look compatible. The issue is the Demon is beyond repair and I cant get a replacement anywhere.
Please help

Ben

What are you working on? Is the Demon on a boat engine? That Holley in the pic is a pretty commonly used 2bbl in lots of years of Volvo Penta Marine engines, would work nicely on many 3.0 engines applications..

Hello Maclin
Sorry yes its a boat
The Holley in the original pic is actually the demon, of which I cant get hold of, many mechanics here ( im in Dubai) have tried to fix it but they are saying its too worn out now. They want stupid prices for a replacement of which I know will be a unit that's been sat in a warehouse for the past 10 years.

The Holley in this reply is the one I am looking to swap it out for, just wanted some advise on whether this Holley will replace the current DEMON carb?

I don't know a lot about the specs, it certainty looks the same physically!

Reason I ask is im shipping this 7000 miles so I could do with as much advice as I can prior.

Thanks

That red paint fooled me, but Demons and Holleys are a lot alike. And that is why I think that 500CFM Marine carb will work well on your 3.0. Now that I look at it again, looks like the fuel bowl is off, also the air vent has no J tube, do you know if the Demon is/as Marine specific?

Hopefully the linkage is the same or close or can be moved from the Demon to the Holley. Also the fuel feed may be an issue if the Demon had the "slanted" fuel inlet.

But, out of the box that Holley would probably work well as is.

Thanks Maclin
I took the picture when it was being stripped down, its all been cleaned since but still no luck . The Demon doesn't have a J Tube or this one never had anyway. I don't know if its marine specific, i'm assuming it is because of the electronic choke and the fact that its been on since new.
I've purchased the Holley 80412 - 500 cfm, just waiting for it to arrive.
Thanks again for your help , ill let you know how I get on once it arrives.
