Personally, I think you only need to drain the block and I wouldn't trust the mixture you have in the block now.

I always pull my drive every year to check the u-joints, gimbal bearing, alignement and to see if there is any water in the bellows. If you do that, no need to remove those screws which can be a pain to remove if they haven't been removed in awhile.

I just removed the pivot housing water drain plug, and no water came out. When I looked into the hole, it looked like there was a fresh dab of grease (but clear like silicon) inside.
