Volvo Penta 4.3 GL Temp Sensor Question

Hello everyone,
So I just finished up the headache of swapping a used 4.3 long block to my boat and swapping everything over (due to a cracked block on old engine). I started her right up and she purrs like a kitten, however I have one last issue on my hands. On the 4.3 the temperature sensor sits in the intake manifold by the #2 cyclinder. My problem here is that the intake manifold on my new engine has a plug in it that has part of the head cracked off so I can't get this out for the life of me (see attached pic). I am curious if any of you gurus have any tricks up your sleeves to back the plug out, or alternatively if I can just change the location of the temp sensor to maybe the exhaust riser? I would hate to have to pull the intake manifold off after everything just to drill the plug out, but if need be that's what I will do. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

three suggestions

use the manifold from your old motor.

or start drilling

or remove the manifold, fire up the torch, get the intake hot, alow to cool, then plug-weld a nut onto the plug to allow you to back it out. the repeated heating/cooling will fracture the corrosion.

Ayuh,.... Unless there's another plug on the other side of the manifolds water passage, or a plug in the t-stat housin', Below the t-stat,.....

Ya either gotta drill that one out, or use yer other intake,....

The temp sender has to be on the block's side of the t-stat to give ya any useful temps,....

In the exhaust system, anywhere is a waste of time, no useful info,....
