Thanks for the welcome!

I'll check for 12V to the coils with the key in "on" with my multi-meter today.

Is the best way to check for spark at the distributor to yank off one of the ignition wires, crank it and look for a spark?

Ayuh,.... Pull a wire, 'n hold it 'bout a 1/4' - 1/2" from ground, 'n turn it over, ya oughta hear, 'n see the spark,....

Just a vote to try not to actually hold the plug wire while firing the ignition. An old magneto ignition has enough energy to make a man jump back in pain. HEI I have not tangled with but I believe it has considerably more energy during the discharge. That said if there are any leaks from the plug wire you don't want to be part of that circuit.

The spark plug boot may be long enough to prevent visualizing the spark. I like the spark plug visualization tool, with usual urgencies of safety for having an open ignition source with gasoline around.

This is one example from many choices.

I'm seeing strong spark at the coil and a slightly weaker spark at the end of the wires, but its there.

So to sum it all up, I have spark and I have fuel. Could my exhaust be blocked by something which is preventing a start? How should I clear it out if it is?

My boat sits in a river all year filled with lily's and other weeds that I have to constantly clear up around the boat.

How do you know you have fuel? You have wet fuel on the plugs?

I checked the pressure at both schraeder valves, but you make a good point, the injectors could be clogged with the same paint that ended up on everything else in my fuel system.
