It would seem to me if you had a fuel leak at the pump or an injector, your engine compartment would reak of gasoline creating a fire hazzard. Is there any gasoline smell in there? if a connection was leaking, it would be collecting in the bottom of the bilge. Since you can't verify if it is oil or gas, have you looked at the drive oil to check if it is low or milky?
