hi new to the forum here wanted to say hi and I had a question that I hoped maybe someone could answer for me. I have a 2000 glaston with a volvo penta 5.0 gi engine that ran when I put it away for winter. Now I went to try to start it and I am not getting fuel. I can hear the fuel pump running if I feel the canister where the return line goes in it will run for about 30 seconds. It seems like a am not getting fuel from the tank to the pump if anyone had any suggestions I would appreciate it thanks

Every boat has an anti-siphon valve at the gas tank somewhere, U.S.C.G. regulations. It is a one way check valve, find it, & make sure it's clean, & working, you can blow thru it one way only. These sometimes get gunked up. While there check the pickup screen in the tank at the bottom. This could be your problem?

Thanks for the replies and suggestions Yes I should have a mentioned that I hooked up a small tank and put it higher than the engine, thinking it would gravity feed to the pump, but it still would not pump fuel does anyone know if it has two fuel pumps. The one on the outside. I can feel running, but there looks like there may be one in the middle of the housing that has an electrical connection going to it. I did not know if this was another pump or some kind a safety shutoff valve. Thanks

Is the vent on your gas tank clear? How about the vent on the small tank was that open?

Yes, both were open . I think I am going to pull the fuel pump housing and see what I can find out. I will try to take some pictures and post them. Thanks

Hi I just wanted to update when I found out I tore the fuel-cell apart and the low-pressure pump was not working. Thanks again for everybody's help also. I was wondering what everybody thought about buying the two pumps separate and putting them in the old housing, which would cost about $350 versus buying the complete unit, which is about 650 thanks
