I have a 2007 Volvo Penta 5.7 gxi that has been sitting for a couple months and went to start it the other day and at first it started up right away and ran for a couple minutes. The next day went to start it and it ran rough for a minute and then sputtered out and will not start again. The fuel had stabilizer in it but thought it might be an ethanol issue/bad fuel. Replaced the fuel/water sep filter and filled it with clean gas, that didnt help. It seems starved for fuel and if I add gas to the air intake it starts right away. Im wondering if there is some kind of screen in the fuel pump that is clogged. Ive checked the gas tank vent and that is not clogged. Also tried feeling on the intake side of the fuel filter while cranking the engine and could not feel any suction at all. Im hoping it could be something that could be cleaned out vs. needing a whole new pump.. Not clear on how it could be working one minute and then nothing. Any suggestions or advice on troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Joe
