hello

I have a question how the engine Volvo Penta 5.7 GXi heated fresh water in the boiler. From the boiler going two pipes in the engine. Does the water flowing from the engine to the boiler water from the sea, or the antifreeze? Does this water witch flowing from the engine to the boiler goes back to sea?

thanks and sorry for my bad English!

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,...... If by chance yer motor has a heat exchanger, 'n is coolin' with antifreeze in the block, the antifreeze is what cycles from the motor, to the water heater, 'n back to the motor,.....

On the other hand,....
If yer motor is raw water cooled, usin' the water outside the boat,....
That same water cycles through the water heater, is returned to the motor, 'n then expelled out the exhaust,....

So, Yes, the water coolin' the motor is run through the coil in the water heater, 'n returned to the motor,.....
The water in the water heater, does Not mingle with the motor's water, they stay the separate,...

The route of flow is from the intake manifold, behind the T-stat, 'n returns to a port in the circulatin' water pump, or the hose leadin' to it,......
