I have a 2007 Larson 350 Cabrio powered by twin Volvo Penta 5.7GXI-H. I want to interface the engine with my Raymarine E-80. After speaking with Raymarine, they gave me the part number for the Volvo Penta interface but they told me to make sure that the motors are NMEA 2000 compliant. I have no clue if the EVC system is on the motors or not and can not find any information regarding that. Does anyone know if they are compliant or where I can find out?
Thanks in advance

Don,
Thanks for the reply. I am no where near the boat so I will not be able to post any pictures. However, I can tell you that the gauges are not Volvo Penta and there is no EVC display. Again, what I would like to do is read the engine data on my Raymarine E80. Not sure if that can be accomplished or not.

Thanks again

Then you probably don't have EVC. It takes extra wiring, PCU's HCU's, special volvo control pads and displays. Without them, there is no NMEA2000 connections.

Thanks, thats what I thought. What do you know about the EVC MC system? Were these items( EVC or EVC MC) only available as options or is it something that can still be added?

A friend has the same boat same year same engines. We have been able to accomplish this with two maretron j2k100 j1939 to nmea 2000 interface modules. If you're still interested in doing this I can tell you what we did.
