Boat is a 1997 Cobalt 252 with a Volvo Penta 7.4GIPLKDCE.
Inspected drive unit section and discovered hydraulic lines to the trim tilt cylinder shaved - outer protective layer is shaved, exposing what appears to be a SS braided hose. It seems that the lines on both sides are not positioned/installed correctly. When turning, they rub on the housing. Are they safe to use as is? Should I replace or just reposition the lines so that no rubbing occurs? If replace, what is Volvo Penta part number? Buy OEM or after market? Any special precautions because of hydraulic pressure?
