http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=315841 is the post that suggests
complete success. One more tiny lingering detail remains, fouled plugs. I've got 9.5 v at the "+" at the coil with key on, I've read on BID ignitions it's supposed to be 12 V all the time not just during cranking. Can I get some clarity there please is that true? Plugs are all fouled the same, I know I have a fuel delivery issues as well, installing a fuel press. reg between filter and carb shortly and will concede this motor just can't be used for trolling. My bad also has been a .028 gap that an AQ260 would use with points but the dist I have is an AQ271 or AQ311 BID so just changed the gap to the .035 suggested by everybody as the too narrow gap "can" be a reason for dry fouling!! Still starts as soon as I can let go of the key hot or first time of day after "setting" choke, have electric choke set to alt post that only charges when engine running. D'oh any way, still a great excercise and well worth this little blurb. BTW after all that it was the Wake Skis I had that I swapped the motor for I still can't get up on them LOL cause I'm 50lbs heavier than they are rated for, regular skis no problem. That's funny. Did install relay for starter, that is all better, But she still rips, getting smart tabs too all that extra power has us porpoising a bit mid throttle with 5 people or more in boat. Totally awesome fun, still exciting everytime I "hit" it.
