Sooooo uh, how does one go about finding which 1999 4.3GL engine they have if the tag on the valve cover has no digits on it. Its like its been erased, but I'm assuming time has done its thing and they've been mistakenly wiped. Because there's nothing on them or they are extremely faded. Thoughts? I can see the transom digits and the stern drive digits...but the engine is a major loss for me.

I'm in need of a new or build kit for the water circulation pump, exhaust manifolds cause someone left water in them and they froze, cracked and leaks water. Really just like to get the numbers so I can search part numbers I might need on the volvopenta shop.

Thank you!

If the exhaust manifolds were left to freeze, the block and heads most likely also have cracks in them

What is the back story on this boat you now should be pressure testing the cooling water jacket?

Is there a product number on the metal tag?

I can't find the metal tag. I found one on the transom and one on the outdrive...but the tags, which look like just a sticker on the valve cover have nothing on them anymore.

The gentleman I bought it from said he would pour RV antifreeze into the large pipe that attaches to the thermostat housing until it came out of the other two hoses attached as part of his winterization. I haven't noticed any water coming from the block or heads and no water in the oil (milky look).
