Re: Volvo-Penta Heat Exchange

I know Volvo parts are expensive.
But you sure you want to put used parts in the cooling system?
You tried flushing or taking it to a radiator shop for an acid dip?
The link Raven posted is for a tested unit: it's tested for leaks not flow.
What's the motor doing that you think the exchanger needs to be replaced?
I've found the manifolds the biggest problem for the 125/131
Fill out the profile,location.
You might be close to someone who can help.

Re: Volvo-Penta Heat Exchange

take it to a good radiator place, they can repair it for a few$.
If you want new, there are many will-fit heat exchanger manufacturers out there.

Re: Volvo-Penta Heat Exchange

The exchanger is held in place with pressure and a o-ring.
The bottom is pushed in place and sealed with the o-ring.
Take the cover off, then remove the screws on the bottom of the housing.
Then just push/pull the insert.

You can have radiator shops build you a brand new one. Done that many many times, have also had that done for heater cores in ambulance bodies.

I have one sitting around. I took it apart to make sure the internals were ok so it will need gaskets to put back together. Pm me if interested
