Volvo 432 A 6 Cylinder 1993
At idle speed I reached for a fender outside my boat and accidentally thrust the throttle lever full forward causing the engine to stall. I could not restart it. Smelled gasoline, thinking it was flooded I waited a few minutes and still could not get it to start. The starter turns the engine over fine. When I got home I tried starting the engine, it would turn over but not start. I checked the choke plate to see if it was operating and it was covering the air intake as it should on a cold start. If I spray starting fluid into the carb I can get it to start and once it does it runs beautifully. After 10 minutes of running at idle speed. I shut it down and immediately try to restart. It won't start. This is a mystery to me. Anyone have any ideas?
