Volvo Penta Outdrive 290DPA gear ratio change

Hi there.
I have !990 Beneteau Flyer 8 with twin 4.3 v6 VP and VP 290dpa outdrives. One of the out drives is older version 290. but they both with1.95 gear ratio.

my question is ;
I found new 290dpa with 2.30 gear ratio. can i use the gears in the older 290 and change the gear ratio to 1.95? so i can have same style and look of the out drives.

Uppers are all the same gear ratio........ You would need a 1:95 lower unit
