Running about 30 mph and pulled back really hard on the throttle to avoid running into the rice paddies on the Wando River - Throttle did not stop in neutral and abruptly went from forward to reverse. I did not hit anything and the duoprop is fine. Motor cranks and runs properly and throttle works fine, the prop will simply not engage. The prop turns freely by hand with no resistance or grinding or popping. There are no visible leaks anywhere. I would appreciate any suggestions of what I may look for prior to putting the boat into the shop? Many thanks!

Could be the bushing between the upper & lower unit that has sheared. Do both props rotate both ways in fwd & revrse? If so get it to the shop.
