I was forced to put a long block in my 2008 Stingray with a 4.3GXi
I was unable to find confirmed paint codes for the red and gray used on the late motors via Google so I figured I would post here.
THE red used is Chrysler Flame Red, OEM code PR4 used on 1990s Dodge vehicles.
I confirmed this by cleaning my old valve cover and painting over it with the new paint. Perfect match.
I simply had the gray color matched by the PPG guys and they came up with Fiat FIA022/A
I used PPG epoxy primer followed by their Delfleet Essential single stage urethane (1qt kit of each color) and a can of Bulldog Plastic adhesion promoter for the plastic valve covers.
This paint is easy as pie to work with and hangs/builds well. I had no runs. Orange peal from dry fogging was my only issue. That's what I get for spraying outside and not taking time to setup a wind brake / shaded area.
10 hrs on the engine so far and no signs of paint failure due to heat etc.
