Hi, I have a 23 ft composite cruiser which weighs approx 2000 lbs. It is fitted with a Volvo Penta 290 DP with a B5 propellers. It is very slow and i was wondering if someone could advise me if changing the props to maybe a B6 or B7 would give me more performance / speed. Would the pitch make any difference? It is used in Saltwater in the Irish sea. Thanking you in advance. Gary.

you may want to double check your weights. are you sure you dont mean 2000kg?

my 24' boat is 3500# dry or about 4400# (2000kg) wet. my 19' SeaRay was 3000# dry

What is your actual weight (per scale)? what RPM are you spinning? what is GPS speed? what motor

My 1988 vintage 271C with vortec heads and a good cam was turning B5's on a DP290 at 5000 RPM and about 46mph. I could spin B6's to about 4600 RPM and about 48mph . The B5's gave me a better hole shot
