Volvo Penta Single prop to Duo Prop upgrade

Hi, I have a 2003 Four Winns boat with a Volvo Penta 5.7 G i / S X 280HP. I am looking to upgrade the outdrive from single to Duo prop. Is the DP-SM 1.95 3868913 A1049563 the correct outdrive part to upgrade to DP? Would it be the same for the Volvo Penta 5.7GXi/SX 320? Thanks in advance...

Search for "volvo sx to dp conversion" and the first link will be a site which list the conversion kits

The DP is a nice drive but what are you trying to fix? Is your SX need replacing?

The DP does increase efficiency but its not that much. With a boat its all drag so the increase may be noticed getting out of the hole, but there are many variables. In most cases the cost of change over will not cover the savings in fuel.

Top speed may be reduced because the drive weighs more and the extra prop blades also take more power to rotate
Also note if you had a 1.50 drive now, going to a 1.95 will require a high pitch prop set
