Please help I'm at a loss here!!!!
Boat&motor- 1986 21' bayliner capri-aq225e #cu56837.....
ok the boat ran 2 months ago. i decided i was gonna pull out all the carpet and refinish the inside with no carpet, like i said boat ran the week before i started this project...i completed the project boat would not start.... i read a lot of the threads and started with ignition system....no spark...i replaced the plugs and wires about 3 months ago so i started with the points they were bad so i changed the points and condenser and the coil just to be sure....i set the points with a dwell meter as everyone here said..... 30deg while cranking i read that here somewhere.... i now have spark from the coil wire and from the 2 plug wires i checked.... now the engine turns over trys to start for about 1 to 3 seconds and stops..... it seems like when i turn the key back to the run position it stops...i dont have a kill switch.... so i thought it might be a fuel issue so i changed the filters and have plenty of gas from the line in front of the carb.....so i rebulit the carb in accorance with one of the videos i found hear.....motor still does the same thing.......please help i'll try anything to get thing fixed since the Navy dont pay me enough to have someone else do it.....thanks in advance.....
