What type of socket do I need to remove the Steering Helmet bolts on a 2000 DP-SM drive?

Looks like I need a splined socket to fit the 2 bolts? What is this called and what size do I need?

I need to remove this so I can replace the gimbal bearings plastic tube with a SS zerk.

Thanks!!!

Ayuh,... Are they 12 point,... If so, use a regular 12 point socket...

Hmm, this would need a male splined socket to fit into the bolt.

I just don't know what size or if there is such a thing?

Well I understand what your saying, I have an entire car using the darn things (darn Swedes) but this is a super fine tooth unline any torqs bit I have seen before.

Use a 1/2" allen wrench and some heat to melt the 271 Locktite. If you want the special too, it's the same tool used by Mercruiser and OMC. Used way before Volvo started using them.
