New member, but have gotten excellent advise over the years just searching the forums. Specific issue I am having is the trim will not work going down. Last year the cylinders started leaking, which I ordered a kit and rebuilt. The fluid was drained and cycled to get out any potential water, but leak was caught very early. Reconnected hoses and started cycling up and down to purge. After just a few cycles the trim started working correctly going up, but the down stroke is not pumping. It will still move very slowly as gravity will help move the fluid. The pump is running but sounds like it is cavitating....definitely doesn’t sound like a blocked flow condition. The fluid looks good, is at the correct level, and still moves up just fine. Any idea what could be causing the trim down not to work given all that and the pump is turning. Probably tried cycling it up and down over 20 times and no change to the inward stroke on the cylinders.

Mine used to act up. I first swapped relays and that seemed to do it for a while. It got worse and was where it struggled in one direction over the other. I took it out , opened it up and if was FILTHY inside. I took it apart and blasted it with a can of electronic s cleaner and cleaned the brushes and soldered them back the the wires as they were off and loose.

Very easy fix. Worth a try.
