Volvo penta sx trim cylinder thread

Folks would anyone know the thread size for the trim cylinder. I have a trim cylinder with both hose connections that have been crossed threaded but still thread present. The hoses were cracked and new ones installed but it looks like the previous owner was in a hurry. Volvo penta trim cylinders are stupid expensive and i want to re-thread with the correct thread to be able to connect the new hoses. The trim cylinder is 3857470.

SAE inverted flare with 3/8-24 threads. A very specific port tool, and a custom port tap.

A standard tap will not work

It will need to be custom ground with clearance for the inverted flare

I got gifted the same issue from a previous owner. Tilted all the way up and waited for the pump stall which never came, went and checked and all the oil was pumped out into the battery compartment... I noticed the leaking fitting wasn't screwed in as far as the other and the first three or four threads in the pump housing were crossed but the rest further in were fine.

I managed to clear the aluminium bits from the crossed threads with a pick and by first fully inserting the flanged pipe end and then carefully threading the fitting on straight it came back together all the way and feels and looks properly seated. Maybe I was just lucky. I was also looking for the correct tap but figured I could run the risk of damaging the remaining good threads. HTH.
