Hi,
I'm still trying to figure out why my 1996 Volvo Penta 5.7Gi DP-S is having intermittent tilt issues. The outrive does not always raise up. Either nothing happens (no click or other sounds from pump motor) or the motor sounds like it's straining to raise the outdrive then no noise at all. I crank the steering wheel back and forth and then try again and it raises up (not always). Weird. Wires look ok. Here's a pic of the type of tilt pump/motor. My manual says to check the fluid level with the engine raised by removing the plug. Only problem, I cannot see in the small hole to see if it's full even with a flashlight! I dumped a little fluid out. Any advice on my next step?
Thanks, Eric
