Volvo SP outdrive won't trim up...

The boat is a 1990 Glastron Sierra with an AQ131 and SP CD Trim Outdrive. The issue I have is, the motor will trim down, but not back up. The motor will not engage. I jumped the motor with a hot wire, and got the motor to raise, so I know the mechanism and hydraulics are sound, I'm just not sure where to look for the problem... I took apart the throttle and tested the switches, which seemed to work fine... I suspect it to be a corroded wire or bad relay, but I have no idea where to find these... If someone could please give me some insight, or at least an idea where to look and how to test it, I'd really appreciate it!

I had the same issue with my bravo 1 a few years back. It was the up selenoid. After I figured out which selenoid to scrutinize I jumped it out while someone else hit the up button and it went up. Just determine which one it is and see if you get volts when you hit the button. If so it is the selenoid and not the switch.

You got 2 relays by your trim pump, 1 up and the other down. Switch them and see if the problem changes, ie will now go up but not down. If it does, then your relay is bad.

Thanks. I will head out there in the morning and see if I can locate the relays and swap em. Hopefully they'll be easy to find, and I can fix the problem.
