Hello, I have a problem with Volvo Sx knocking noise, I have replaced gimbal bearing, u-joints, and had balance the cardan.
Boat is now on water, on iddle when I trim up I can hear knocking noise, and when motor is running and I hardly turn left or right knocking noise are here.

Can I put grease if boat is on the water ?
Is it safe to drive like this and wait till end of season ?

Welcome aboard crnjak. I moved you to a new topic ... the other one had been dormant for a while.

I don't know Volvo's but it sounds like an alignment issue, perhaps?

Thank you..

Is it safe to drive till the end of season ?

I have the exact same issue you do. I've had several authorized repair shops look at it, inspect the usual culprits, check alignment, etc. They even replaced with brand new drive line and brand new gimbal bearing. They all said the drive is just noisy. Everything has been gone through including my wallet. This was all last year at the beginning of the season. They said to run it all summer and pull drive and reinspect to see if there was any wear which there was none. If you have the same issue then I'd say run it but if you haven't had anyone inspect it then I'd get it inspected and ask their advice.

I have a SX-m, and it is not noisy.
when at idle, are you in gear, or is the prop not spinning?
and does it make noise when the drive is in any position, or just up?
if just up, then you might be in the "Trailer" position. That is when the drive is all the way up to be put on a trailer, in that position you should not put the drive in gear. The angle is to much b for the u-joints.

I would try and pull the boat and remove the drive and check for wear. If you take the next chance and not check it, could cause alot more problems than what you have now

On video when it is on idle it is not in gear (prop not spinning).
It make noise on idle, and when you drive about 1200rmp you can hear knocking when you turn full right or full left.
But I don`t know why, I have replaced U-joints, and gimball bearing and put new bellows.
What is possible worst thing that can happen ?

I think when I drive forward everything is fine. And boat goes 45 miles with no problem.

Thanks, I will drive it till end of season, on last day of season I will put drive to extreme and then pull drive out and inspect.
I hope it will run all season because all new parts are instaled.

Well if all parts are new and everything has been inspected then there is nothing you can do until or if something breaks. If you've gone through the drive and replaced every part known to cause this issue then it sounds like you just have a noisy drive. Run the **** out of it and reinspect at the end of the year. Just keep an ear out to make sure it doesn't get worse. That could be an indicator that something is getting ready to go..

Whether the drive is in gear or not, the drive shaft still spins. It does appear from the video that you have the drive
trimmed up a little too far. I would pull the drive and check the u-joints first. Also check your gear oil level and condition.

It could also be an issue with the shift cable being out of adjustment.

I also agree that in the video, you have the drive to far up. The top of my drive never comes up to the waterline when it's in gear or idling but mine is in a Seaswirl Striper with a very deep transom.
