I recently removed my Volvo sx outdrive to have a helicoil installed on the bottom oil drain plug. I got it fixed and reinstalled; but I'm wondering what the torque spec is for the 6 nuts that hold the outdrive on? Maybe tight is tight? Also I've been looking for a service manual for my 98 four winns 200 as well; 5.0 tbi, sx outdrive. My dealer says he can no longer get those and I'm fed up with trying to get one off the four winns website.

Same, my calibrated wrist at about 50 ft lbs. I also put gasket sealer on the threads, bein' in the salt pond like we are. I'd advise to put OMC/Evinrude triple guard grease on the mating surfaces of the upper gear housing and the pivot housing, because they can corrode together and be difficult to remove. So grease on the mating surfaces and gasket sealer on the threads of the 6 studs...

First step torque is 25 ft lbs and then you torque again to 50. There is also a pattern you torque them in.

Use a torque wrench...no calibrated wrists!

You need to go to the Volvo site to get the manuals...not Four Winns.

Well I've tried the Volvo website and doesn't work for me. There was no grease or anything in the bolts or the mating surface for the last 20 years and I'm in freshwater and never leave the boat in water overnight, so I just reinstalled it dry. Maybe next time I'll grease it a bit. I did grease the gimble bearing while I had the drive off though 😎 Thanks for all the input ! Now does anybody know anything about the little red circuit breaker/fuse things on top of the manifold ? I pushed one and it clicked. Haven't had boat started yet this year so I don't know if I tripped something or whatnot. Didn't really see a reset on it either
